Before the transplantation can be done medical tests are performed on the donor’s kidneys to ensure it is suitable for transplantation. After the tests, kidney patients are put on a transplant waiting list until a kidney is found that is compatible to their body. Waiting time is hard to predict as it depends on the availability of kidneys or how hard it is to match.
