How to Download an App from the Google Play Store

How to find apps in the Google Play Store

  • Tap the Google Play Store app on your screen
  • Search for or browse the app you want to download
    • Tap the magnifying glass on the bottom right of your screen
    • Type in the name of the app you want to search for, for example Headspace.

 

How to download apps from the Google Play Store

Once you have found the app you want, it is time to download and install it on your mobile device.

To install an app from the Google Play Store on your device, you need to be signed into a valid Google account - a username and password that can be used to log in to Google services. If you use other Google applications like Docs, Sites, Maps or Photos, sign in to the Google Play Store with the same account. If you don't have a Google account, you can create one.

Follow the steps below to download an app on your device:

  • Tap the app you want to download
  • Tap GET to start installing the app on your device
  • You might need to sign in with your Google account
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation and get the app
  • Once the app finishes installing, it will appear on your Home screen
