UHN Virtual Library: West Park

West Park's Resource & Learning Centre

UHN Library & Information Services is working to bring together library resources and services from both the UHN and West Park libraries. This page is where you can find the latest information on our steps towards library integration.

Please note, West Park staff, researchers and learners continue to have access to information resources via the Hub. See below under "databases" for instructions on accessing resources on-site and remotely. We are working towards enabling remote and onsite access to resources on the UHN Virtual Library for West Park users by Fall 2025. Questions about integration of library resources can be directed to Jessica.Babineau@uhn.ca (Director, Library & Information Services).

Services & Training

Resources

Access the eCPS, Nursing & Allied Health, and UpToDate databases

Onsite login:

  1. Login to the Hub. with your UHN credentials.
  2. From the menus, choose departments / library / clinical tools /  name of particular clinical tool.

Remote login:

  1. Login to the Cisco VPN with your UHN credentials
  2. Login to the Windows App with your UHN credentials
  3. Login to the Hub with your West Park credentials.
  4. From the menus, choose departments / library / clinical tools /  name of particular clinical tool.

If you work remotely and do not have the Cisco and/or Windows apps downloaded on your device, please contact IT: 

Requests:

  • To request an article, please email ill@uhn.libanswers.com and indicate the journal title, at least one author, and article title along with your email signature.

Resource & Learning Centre

Location

The Resource & Learning Centre (RLC) is located in room 1A on the main floor to the right of the Emmett Avenue entrance. It is accessible 24/7 with your West Park employee badge.  

In Library Services

  • Computers
    There are multiple computers for staff use located in the back of the RLC. Login with your UHN email and password. For assistance, contact IT department 416 243 3600 x33333, or helpdesk@ticketing.westpark.org.
  • Booking Rooms
    Book study rooms or the RLC conference room through Outlook.
  • Printing, Photocopying & Faxing
    Login to the computer system through a RLC computer to find your document and set up the job. Then use your employee badge at the photocopier at the front of the RLC to release the job. Printing will be charged to your department.

Historical Research

Information about how to access records from West Park and the Toronto Free Hospital for Consumptive Poor are available from the Archives of Ontario.

Patient and Family Resources

Assistance for patient and families looking for health resources is available from the Patient and Family Learning Centre at Toronto General Hospital. Please email requests to tgpen@uhn.ca. The RLC is not currently accessible to patients and families.
