Knowledge Synthesis

Knowledge synthesis (KS) activities include systematic, scoping, realist, or rapid reviews, meta-analyses, and other types of reviews. Information Specialists (IS) from the Library Services team may contribute their expertise to KS project teams. The contributions of an IS include:

  • providing guidance on various steps in conducting a knowledge synthesis review;
  • creating and documenting comprehensive literature searches;
  • making software recommendations for citation and data management;
  • writing the literature search methods for the manuscript according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) or other appropriate guidelines.

To have an IS join your KS project team, please follow the steps laid out in the Application Process.

Library Services has updated its Systematic Review Partnerships Policy and details can be found on the Systematic Review Policy sub-page.
