This consensus paper was a collaborative effort of the following six major professional organizations: American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine.
From the abstract:
"The article presents a revision and an update of the recommendations for concussion in sport based on deliberations at the 4th International Conference on Concussion in Sport held in Berlin, Germany in October 2016. It offers a summary of concussion and its management with updates from the previous meetings. It outlines the symptoms and signs of acute concussion. It discusses the application of neuropsychological (NP) testing in concussion."
