Respiratory Rate

ROX index greater than or equal to 4.88 is predictive of HFNC success

HFNC failure was predicted with ROX index of less than or equal to:

2.85 at 2 hours
3.47 at 6 hours
3.85 at 12 hours

Remember: If the Respiratory Rate and/or FiO2 increases a lot, the patient is deteriorating.
