You can use limits to narrow down the results of your search based on specific criteria. The first step is to click on 'Limits', located below the search box.
Choose from the list of common limits. For example, 'English Language' or 'Publication Year'. Then click on the search button - MEDLINE will automatically limit the results of the last search you ran.
The number of results that fit your criteria will be added to the search history. Click on 'Display' or scroll down to see the results.
There are additional limits that can be applied to your Medline search to narrow down your results, such as publication type and age groups. To bring up the list of additional limits, click on the 'Additional Limits' button at the bottom of the list of commonly used limits.
Choose your limits from the menus provided. Make sure that the search you want to limit is checked off, and then click on 'Limit a Search'.
The results of the limited search will be added to the search history. Click on 'Display' or scroll down to see the results.
