SJHC e-Library: Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan

What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?

Interlibrary Loan services let you borrow materials (i.e. journal articles, books, DVDs) from other libraries when those materials are not in the collection of the St. Joseph's Health Centre. Materials can be requested by you, and the Information Specialist will locate where the materials can be borrowed and have them delivered to you by email or for pick-up in the George Pennel Library.

How Do I Submit an Interlibrary Loan?

Before placing a request, please check to make sure the item is not already held in our Library—we cannot request materials from another library if they are in our collection. You can search our Journals or Catalogue to ensure the item is not in our collection.

Couldn't find it? Please fill our our Interlibrary Request Form.

NOTE: For requests consisting of 10 or more citations, please contact karen.devotta@unityhealth.to before submitting form.

How Much Does it Cost?

There is no cost for Interlibrary Loans for St. Joseph's Health Centre staff. For staff at St. Michael's Hospital and Providence Healthcare, please consult your library's website for cost details.

Urgent article requests (24-hour turnaround time) are subject to a $10 surcharge. Please note: books are not eligible for 24-hour turnaround time. You can pay by cash or cheque in the Library or by suppling a cost center number.
