Taking Advantage of Your University of Toronto Borrowing Privileges

UHN staff who are also affiliated with the University of Toronto, normally through cross-appointment, have access to all electronic resources purchased by the University, as well as the ability to check out books from the university library. In order to make use of these privileges, your account must first be activated.

UHN Staff or Physicians with U of T Faculty Appointments

Appointed prior to February 1, 2005:
To obtain your library card and access to the University of Toronto Library's electronic resources, fax or email Reader Registration at 416-971-3131 or reader.reg@utoronto.ca, to provide current address information.

Appointed after February 1, 2005:
For access privileges to the University of Toronto Libraries' electronic resources, please obtain the letter from the Business Officer in your U of T department, containing your UTORid and library barcode.

To obtain a TCard, please visit the TCard Office on the 2nd floor of Robarts Library. Bring your letter and photo identification. The TCard Office service hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Research Assistants

Research assistants working in the affiliated research centres should consult with the research office at their hospital to arrange for access to University Library resources.
