Tri-Agency

The Tri-Agency is the three government funding agencies of the Canadian Federal Government:

Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)
Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC)
Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHERC)

Research funded by these three agency must follow the following policy:

Highlights of the policy:

  • Must make all published research publicly available within 12 months.
  • Must keep research data for five years.
  • CIHR support must be credited by stating the funding reference number.
