Borrowing Books and Other Materials

You can check out your books yourself! All you need is your Michener Student ID.

Step 1 – Bring your books to the circulation terminal located near the entrance of the LRC
Step 2 – Click the “Check Out” icon.
Step 3 – Scan your Michener ID.
Step 4 – Scan your book.
Step 5 – Click “Close” and you’re done!

Easy! Just send us an email at and request that the book be renewed.

As many as you’d like!

Books from our Circulating collection must be returned or renewed after two weeks.

Easy! Just email us the book’s information and we will place a hold on it for you. When the book has been returned, we will notify you that it is available to be picked up!

You can return books any time by dropping them off in our returns slot.

Current Michener students, faculty, and staff have access to the LRC’s online resources while off-campus.

Normally no, but there may be a small charge in certain cases.

Short Term Loan items, found behind the counter near the front entrance, are intended for use in the Learning Resource Centre. They cannot be taken out of the LRC. To use them, please follow the above instructions for borrowing a book, including performing a check out. Before you leave the LRC, please return your Short Term Loan item via the Book Return slot.

Dry lab materials may be accessed within the LRC only.

If you lose or damage a library resource, you will be required to pay for a replacement. You may also be charged a processing fee.


After sending your print job to one of the two printers found in the LRC, follow these steps:

1. Tap your Michener ID card.
2. Type in your username and password.
3. Select your print job and press “print”.


15 cents – black and white Single-sided
26 cents – black and white Double-sided
1.00 – colour Double-sided
1.80 – colour Double-sided

Follow these steps:

1. Go to
2. Log in using the same account you would use to log in to the LRC computers.
3. Select “Add Credit”.
4. Select the amount you’d like to add, then click “Add Value”.
5. If you have a PayPal account, you’ll next enter your account information. If not, click “Don’t Have a PayPal account?” and fill in the required fields.
6. You’re done!


Unfortunately, no. Only current students, faculty, and staff can print at the LRC.


The LRC's physical space is now open 24/7 to students, faculty, and staff. Just tap your Michener ID card at the door on the 2nd floor of the building. Having any issues? Talk to Security at the main Reception desk.

If your card is not working, speak to the security staff on the main floor. They will assist you.

Computers, iPads and Devices

Michener students should log in to the Michener_Students network using the same login you use for your Michener email.

The LRC has iPads available to borrow for full-time students and staff. You can borrow an iPad for one week. Speak to LRC staff in person if you would like to borrow an iPad.

The iPads are loaded with anatomy apps and borrowers are welcome to download apps from their personal iTunes accounts.
