What's a Strategic Plan & Mission, Vision Values?
From the HLWIKI Strategic Planning is: described as
"It is quite simply identifying where you want to go, why you want to go there, how you will get there, what you need in order to get there and how you will know if you're there (or not)" (http://hlwiki.slais.ubc.ca/index.php/Strategic_planning)
Put very simply:
A Mission can be defined as your overall purpose, what business are you in, what do you hope to achieve?
A Vision can be seen as where you're headed, and what will your business be like in 5 years (or however long your Stragetgic plan is relevant) and how you plan on getting there
The Values are the predefined, core items that will permeate everything you do to reach your vision and fulfill your mission. Though your vision or mission might change, the core values usually remain very similar from one strategic plan to another.
In the 2013 Task Force brainstormming session on Strategic Planning we narrowed it down to some basic principles about 'What our Administrators Value'
