How to subscribe to a podcast on your Mac or PC

If you would like to hear more episodes of a podcast you can sometimes subscribe to it on your computer or mobile device.

• Go to the website for the podcast
• Click Subscribe 
  • This may take you to Apple Podcast, Google Podcasts or the sites RSS feed

Google Podcast App

When you buy an Android mobile device, this app is already installed.  You can find it on the home screen.  You can also find it by searching in the Google Play store. You can also find other Podcast apps in the app store, like Google Podcast,  Stitcher, Spotify, Podbean, iHeartRadio, TuneIn or PocketCasts.

How to find and install podcast apps from the Google Play Store

• Tap the Google Play Store on your Home Screen. 
• Search the Google Play Store for the podcasts apps 
• Tap the magnifying glass on the bottom right of your screen. 
• Type in the word “Podcasts” in the search box  and select Google podcast app or other podcast app  
• To get and install an app on your device you need a valid Google account 

To install a podcast app from the Google Play Store, you need to be signed into a valid Google account - a username and password that can be used to log in to Google services. If you use other Google applications like Docs, Sites, Maps or Photos, sign in to the Google Play Store with the same account. If you don't have a Google account, you can create one. 

Finding and Listening to a Podcast on Google Podcast App

• Go to Google podcast app’s search page and type in the name of the podcast you want to listen to, for example Diabetes Canada Podcast. This should take you to the podcast’s homepage.  
• Once on the podcast homepage, you’ll see a list of recent episodes. Tap on one to play it.  
• A subscribe button at the top of the page lets you subscribe for free. This means the app will automatically download the latest episodes to Your Library. 
• Please note that all podcasts you subscribe to including the latest episodes will be downloaded on the podcast app you selected, in this case Google Podcast app .
